ABOUT SWAGATAM (స్వాగతం)

SWAGATAM Builds Trust in our Community Youth through Languages and Culture

SWAGATAM Promotes Cultural Awareness among the People from the Indian Subcontinent living in the South West Michigan Area using Telugu as a Way of Life.

SWAGATAM as an Acronym stands for South West Area’s Greater American Telugu Association of Michigan which is Registered as South West Michigan Telugu Association Inc, as a Non-Profit Cultural Association, to raise Cultural Awareness through Fundraising Campaigns.

The T in SWAGATAM personifies Tradition, Trust, Tolerance, Time, Threshold, Training, Teaching in various Languages spoken in the Indian Subcontinent like Telugu, Tamil, Tulu, Konkan, Gujarati, Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Kannada, Malayalam.
We teach students the Core Values of Life like Respect, Inclusivity, Team Building and activities and bringing out the best in them. The Children of the Community will be involved in several Fundraising Campaigns and therefore need all Parents to stay Committed to their Children.

As an adage says “It takes a Village to Raise the Child” and today’s Child will be tomorrow’s Leader. We will Showcase our Rich Tradition and Culture which will Strengthen their Belief and Confidence. Through this process, we all as Parents will also feel we are Learning and Teaching our Community and spreading our Culture without Boundaries.

SWAGATAM is using Telugu as a Way of Life to promote Social Justice and Social Equity among the Children of our Community.
